Corner Chair (“Corner Chair,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a barbershop and online booking platform at 1345 Queen Street East, Toronto, ON M4L 1C6. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is written to comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario privacy law.

- Booking details: name, email, phone number, selected barber, service, and appointment time.
- Account information: for customers who create an account, login credentials (passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text).
- Communication preferences:whether you’ve opted in to SMS or email reminders, marketing updates, or the VIP waitlist.
- Service notes: barbers may keep private notes about your preferences (e.g. preferred fade length) to improve future visits. These notes are only visible to staff and are encrypted at rest.
- Payment information: once online payments are enabled, card details are processed directly by our payment processor (Square) and are never stored on our servers.

- Create, confirm, and manage your appointments.
- Send booking confirmations, reminders, and service-related notices.
- Send marketing communications (updates, promotions) only if you’ve opted in, and always with an easy way to unsubscribe.
- Improve our services, scheduling, and shop operations.
- Maintain security, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with service providers who help us operate, including email delivery (SendGrid), SMS reminders (Twilio), and payment processing (Square) once enabled. Each provider is only given the information it needs to perform its function.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect booking forms from cross-site request forgery. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Data retention and security
We retain booking and account information for as long as you have an active account or as needed to provide services, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Sensitive fields are encrypted at rest, access is restricted by role, and passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms.

Children’s privacy
We offer kids’ haircuts, but appointments for minors must be booked by a parent or guardian, who provides the contact information used for the booking. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
